Duke-Alabama in the Georgia Dome?

by Ben Cohen on May 14, 2008

Duke has a home game against Alabama in 2010, but the Blue Devils may be wearing the home jerseys in the Georgia Dome rather than Wallace Wade Stadium. According to Tony Barnhart of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, former Director of Athletics Joe Alleva wants to move Duke’s game in the series down to Atlanta for “more money and recruiting exposure.”

The Atlanta Sports Council introduced bringing the game down to Atlanta, and Alleva was high on the idea. Because first-year head coach David Cutcliffe, an Alabama alumnus, OKed the moving of the game, the deal now seems likely. “It just makes sense for Duke,” Alleva told the AJC.
