Lewis, Wright Hit With Citations

by Ben Cohen on May 29, 2008

The News & Observer reports that junior quarterback Thaddeus Lewis and junior cornerback Leon Wright, both 20, were both cited for underage possession of alcohol early Wednesday morning on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. Both players registered a .03 when they were breathalyzed.

A Duke athletics official was not available for comment to The Chronicle. The N&O reports that “David Cutcliffe would handle the matter internally.”

If either player is suspended, he won’t be the first suspension of the Cutcliffe era. Senior offensive tackle Cameron Goldberg was suspended for violation of team policy April 15, but he was reinstated by Cutcliffe May 8.
