New Toilets To Grace Wallace Wade

by Ben Cohen on June 5, 2008

The troughs of Wallace Wade Stadium were scheduled to be replaced this year, but that plan was delayed. To compensate, Duke is “bringing in high-end portable toilets for women to use during football games,” according to the N&O.

Chris Kennedy, Duke’s associate athletic director, called these toilets “the gold standard.” The bathrooms will be trailers spread throughout the stadium. A new scoreboard will also grace Wally Wade next year, and the bathroom facilities and concession stands will be finished for the 2009 season.

When first-year head coach David Cutcliffe first saw the concessions, he told Kennedy that the food stations looked like “roadside fruit stands.”

Somewhere, Joe Alleva is smiling. Probably on a boat in the swamps of Louisiana.
