Vince Oghobaase Wants Us To Stop Talking About His Knee

by Meredith Shiner on July 23, 2008

From an article in the Herald-Sun:

“My knee is not a problem,” Oghobaase said at ACC Football Kickoff on Sunday afternoon. “I keep hearing the media talking about — ‘His knee is a problem’ — but I’ve never missed a game my whole football career, and I would say that I’ve been somewhat effective, to say the least.

“I had that knee injury in March of ‘05, and it’s now July of ‘08. When media puts stuff about my knee injury that happened more than three years ago, they need to consider that perspective. I’m fine. I would like to stop seeing that online and stop being asked about that. The knee is fine.”

Perhaps the junior defensive tackle, who redshirted his freshman season (and is viewed by many as the best Duke recruit since, um, the Spurrier Era?), can stop the questioning by putting together an All-ACC or even All-America season, as some have projected.

The media being the media, though, his knee might find a place somewhere in the lede.
