I love how UNC wins every category on your analysis (except, of course, the “Push” given to the Frontcourt matchup); however, Duke ends up winning the game. Look for Duke to have no inside presence, and Hansbrough will get whatever he wants…Duke will not play spoiler to UNC on Senior Night, if anything, the game will be as lopsided as it has ever been during this rivalry. When was the last time Duke beat Carolina…my memory is failing me…

Hmm… how about last time they played at the smith center? Yeah I think that IS right.

Unc is lucky enough to get duke when they’re pretty beat up (notice that when duke’s big man gets his nose broken its not even a top story because he just goes back into the game instead of throwing a little girl fit and crying all over the floor… and its not like Hansborough ever closes his mouth anyway so I don’t think it caused him any breathing trouble). Unc certainly has the statistical advantage, but thats why we play the game.

Unc is worse than last year, and somehow even LESS consistent… don’t expect them to do much in the tourny.

Last year at Carolina by double digits was the last time.

Andy Moore (Chronicle staffer) March 6, 2009 at March 6, 2009 at 12:02 pm

To answer Ben, that would be at the Dean Dome last year. Good prediction Taylor… I like the possibility for the upset here.

The last time they played in the Dean Dome.

Your memory’s bad. What school do you go to?

7 of 10 in the K-Dome… Lets make it 8 of 11.

Frontcourt a push? Really??

Tar Heel March 6, 2009 at March 6, 2009 at 11:43 pm

Yeah that last win was also a joke. Ty wasn’t there, and it was one of Qs first attempts at running point. Anyways, Tyler owns the Duke at Cameron. Carolina is the premier program in the country. We don’t rebuild. We reload. I’ll be excited to see another number 1 class coming in next year. Looks like Drew/Strickland, W. Ellington(not ready for pros), Marcus (love red shirts), Ed Davis (200 boards with limited minutes), and Deon. Duke on the other hand… well we’ve seen how they have been in the tourni lately.

Tar Heel March 6, 2009 at March 6, 2009 at 11:45 pm

Oh and if Ty plays Sunday, Duke doesn’t have much of a chance with Tyler final homegame. Front court a push my a…

What is this “Push” buisness? Dook trying to have a baby or just constipated?

Jeff March 7, 2009 at March 7, 2009 at 12:34 am

Ty was injured in the dome last season…but he wouldn’t have made much of a difference anyway, right? Right. Btw, five players are on the court at a time- I notice you left out the power forward spot. Solid work. In any event, assuming Ty plays, the question becomes whether he will get only 40 against Scheyer, or if he’ll go ahead and push for 50. Seriously, that match-up is hysterical.

The tarholes are all hype. Although UNX does reload with the best gangbangers in the country, Roy is such a bad coach, that Duke will win this by double digits. Even though three of their starting eight players are hurt, Duke won’t cry about it like the tarhole fan base did last year when their “get yo cheese up” PG was out due to hurting his ankle while running from the po po. Let’s just hope Hanstravel doesn’t crap his pants again during this game. I also hope the Nose Dome security makes Danny Green’s dad go through a metal detector or two.
