McCallie Releases Schedule

Faith Robertson : Kalana Greene and Jasmine Thomas went back and forth Monday, but the Huskies won easily in the end.

Duke travels to Connecticut this year on January 31.

Head coach Joanne P. McCallie released Duke’s non-conference schedule yesterday—and it’s not easy.

Two road games in particular will test the young Blue Devils. Duke travels to Oklahoma State December 12 and January 31 it will play Connecticut, a team that beat the Blue Devils by 33 last year. Another rematch Duke fans eagerly anticipate is with Texas A&M, which also got the better of the Blue Devils last year. This time, though, the game will be held in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Home games against Kentucky and Xavier round out the schedule’s highlights.

McCallie had nothing but good things to say about the slate of games when she spoke with GoDuke.

“I love the non-conference schedule for the upcoming season,” said McCallie. “I love the challenges it presents and the kind of interesting rivalries we have in Cameron.  We lost to Texas A&M last year and they get to come back to our place this year, which is great for us.  Xavier is an up-and-coming team who was one bucket away from the NCAA Final Four, as were we, so that is another great battle there.”
