Nets Cut Zoubek

The New Jersey Nets cut former Blue Devil Brian Zoubek to bring their roster size to 15.

It looks like National Championships don’t mean much in the NBA.

A few weeks after the Los Angeles Clippers cut Jon Scheyer, the last remaining Blue Devil with a chance to make an NBA roster, Brian Zoubek, was waived by the New Jersey Nets.

Zoubek missed the end of the preseason for the Nets, making it all but an inevitability that the 7-foot-1 center wouldn’t make the team. But with the Nets lacking depth in the front-court, Zoubek represented the last and best hope of seeing a Blue Devil rookie in the NBA this season.
