After Wednesday night’s 74-61 win in front of a fired-up crowd at the Comcast Center, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski had a message for the Cameron Crazies:
“I’d like to ask our fans to respond. I don’t think they realize how important they are for this team. This team is trying to develop and don’t just watch them, be with them. They need your support. This Saturday let’s be out there at noon and be the Cameron Crazies. If you don’t want to do it, then don’t, but it will be a mistake. I think sometimes you just take things for granted.”
Duke undergraduates have struggled to their 1,200-seat section this fall, and the athletic department has begun to sell an increasing number of general admission tickets to offset the empty rows.
The Blue Devils take on St. John’s at 12 p.m. in their first home game since losing to Florida State last weekend.

I would make many sacrifices for tickets for me and my son and hope the students appreciate the uniqueness of Duke Basketball and this team. I will be making the trip to Durham from Minnesota to see if there are tickets available. I won’t mind if there are none to be found…. Kick it old school, make your free throws and play DUKE DEFENSE!!!!!
Cameron Crazies, Please support your fantastic basketball team and the best coach in the country, COACH K. Get out there and cheer your team on as you have in the PAST! I will be watching the game Saturday and I want to see every seat filled and everyone jumping up and down and supporting your Duke Bluedevils!! Good Luck!
I can certainly understand why many Duke students would prefer not to sleep in tents for days just for the privelage of packing into Cameron and asked to chant a series of silly cheers. That isn’t my idea of fun either.
I agree with Coach’s assesment, the team needs the backing of the Crazies.. Something has happened to the student body over the last couple of years as we do not see that unique exuberance from the Crazies. It almost reminds me of watching the socialites that cheer on the Tar Holes !!!!
Being a Cameron Crazy is not a right, but a privilege. I was part of the group that invented the “air ball” chant back in 79 when when we held UNC scoreless in the first half (7-0). As good as those teams were, we never had a Coach like Coach K who is a National treasure. Let’s support the Coach and his team, and stomp the “red Storm ” tomorrow!
