In an appearance on this morning’s Dan Patrick Show, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski weighed in on Jeremy Lin, who played for former Blue Devil point guard Tommy Amaker at Harvard.
“The kid’s for real,” Krzyzewski said. “Everybody should just give him credit. This isn’t the hula hoop or something, it’s not going to go by the wayside. The kid is going to be a really good player from now on.”
Lin has averaged 14.3 points and 5.6 assists with the New York Knicks this season after being cut by the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets earlier in his career. In his senior season with the Crimson in 2009-10, Lin averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game.
“I thought he was really good [at Harvard],” Krzyzewski said. “Obviously no one thought he would be what he is today, but he was good. And he’s big… so he can handle the physicality of the NBA.”
