Elizabeth Williams will play through stress fracture

Duke freshman Elizabeth Williams has suffered a stress fracture in her right lower leg, but will continue to play through the NCAA tournament, the team announced today. She will take time off after the postseason to complete her recovery.

The 6-foot-3 center, ESPN’s national rookie of the year, is averaging 14.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, 1.6 steals and 1.5 assists this season.

The Blue Devils have just eight available scholarship players left on the roster after injuries to Richa Jackson and Amber Henson, and the suspension of Chloe Wells for a violation of University policy.
