Danowskis to team up again for Duke lacrosse

John Danowski became the head coach of the Duke lacrosse team in 2006 following the famed scandal that year, inheriting a squad with his son, Matt, as the star player.

Now the pair will be reunited as Matt has been hired as an assistant coach, according to a press release from the team.

Matt played on the team from 2004-2008, gaining a fifth season of eligibility due to 2006′s lacrosse scandal that cut the season short after eight games.

In his time with the Blue Devils he became the NCAA all-time leading scorer, taking the team to  national championship games in 2004 and 2007. He also collected a host of individual accolades as the 2007 national player of the year, Tewaaraton Trophy recipient and three-time ACC Player of the Year.
